URGENT WARNING
Some of our walks are on private land where there are some wonderful old kauri trees. We must protect them at all costs. There is a boot brushing machine at the ferry terminal by the ramp for boats to Rangitoto and Matarangi, please brush your boots or trainers at this point before getting the ferry to Waiheke. You will also be required to spray your boots or trainers when you reach Matiatia. Go to the caravan headquarters on the wharf where you will be provided with spray foc.
If you have been walking in the Waitakeres or other areas affected by Kauri Dieback Disease, please ensure your boots/shoes are thoroughly cleaned before arriving for your Waiheke Island walk.
