Deep in the eastern end lies undeveloped reserve, definitely one for the battle-hardened bush-whacker!
Slog up a swampy valley so long you’ll think we are lost. Finally emerge into a farm block so big you can’t see the road. Hard work, but you’ll be able to say you were there…
Waiheke residents meet at Charlie Farleys 1.20pm to ‘car share’ and follow the Special bus to ‘hidden’ start of the walk. This walk takes about four hours and ends at the junction of Cowes Bay and Orapiu Road. The special bus will return you to the ferry terminal.
Please Note: Definitely EXTREME TRAMPING TRACK (no visible track!) – you need to be very fit and self-sufficient to do this walk, strong shoes and bring water. All walks are undertaken at own risk.
Date and Start Time: Thursday 1 November, 2pm
Duration:4 hours
Start Location: Charlie Farleys, The Strand, Onetangi,
Ferry: 12noon, meet special bus $20 return
Grade: Harder
