SORRY FULLY BOOKED. Amazing views in the heart of Waiheke’s wine country. The Madame-Rouge lends its name to the walk, the wine and the Madame-Rouge Run which takes place annually in early January.
The guided walk starts and finishes at Casita Miro, Brown’s Road, Onetangi and crosses private land with scenery normally hidden from public view. International award-winning winemaker, Barnett Bond, will be your chief guide through Miro Vineyard and several other award-winning vineyards (Obsidian and Stonyridge) and along part of the Madame-Rouge run. There will be a pit stop at Wild on Waiheke for ginger beer so bring some money with you.
Please note that there is a particularly long steep hill at the start of this walk but you can take it at your leisure. There will be a main introduction at the start of the walk and then you pace yourself to each of the ‘stations’ where a guide will be waiting to talk to you.
Date and Start Time: Saturday 27 October, 2pm
Duration: 3+ hours
Start Location: Miro Vineyard, 3 Browns Road, Onetangi
Ferry:11am take the regular bus to 7th Avenue, Onetangi and walk up the hill
