Interactive fun walk for all fitness levels and ages as you explore the walkways of Atawhai Whenua reserve. Pick up at map at Caravan HQ on the wharf where professional guide, Janine James, will give a short briefing before you set off on your trail of discovery. The flipside of the map has a quiz and there will be people stationed along the route who may be able to help with the answers! Learn about the history and nature of this surprising reserve. Weave flax, hear the Maori history, learn about medicinal and edible plants of the bush. See what local volunteers do in the reserve.
Drop your completed quiz sheet back to Caravan HQ and be in to win a Macpac backpack and two return tickets on Fullers Ferry.
Date and Start Time: Saturday 3 November, from 10am and no later than 12noon
Duration: 2 hours (30 min walk but allow 1 1/2 hours for visiting stations)
Start Location: Matiatia, get directions at the caravan
Ferry: 9am, 10am, 11am
