Overview
We know that not everyone can commit to the full 5-day Te Ara Hura experience and that's totally okay! We're excited to introduce our brand NEW 'Best of the Te Ara Hura - 3-day walk'. for those looking for a shorter escape but still looking for a fitness challenge. You will be walking 6 to 8 hours at a moderate pace to complete up to 15-20km per day, so a very good level of walking fitness is required. Think of it as a hilly half marathon every day, for 3-days!

Want to know more? Here’s a brief outline of the 3-days …

Day 1 – Onetangi to Oneroa

Explore the Northern side of Waiheke.  This north coastline is made of sandy beaches separated by rocky headlands and reefs intertwined by lush green northern reserves.

Day 2 – Oneroa to Blackpool

Walk the stunning headlands revealing hidden architecture, art and million dollar views.   Includes a little rock hopping around the Church Bay track section

Day 3 – Rocky Bay to Orapiu Rd

Experience the southern shores and some of the real Waiheke heading toward Rangihoua and experience breathtakingly beautiful views in all directions.  Ascend through the fabulous Whakanewha Regional Park to Trig Hill, and then begin the tougher bush section of Te Ara Hura, with absolutely spectacular views and lots of ups and downs through Awaawaroa and Passage Rock. Today includes the notorious “rope-assisted climb”.

What an incredible opportunity – grab your friends and get ready for three days of challenging fun!

PLEASE NOTE: There is a fee of $375 plus booking fee for this walk to cover shuttle costs (where there are no public transport options) (plus a few drinks and nibbles along the way).   Please note:  Walkers organise their own food and accommodation. Please check our cancellation policy before booking this walk.
