P.S. Consider becoming a Waiheke Walking Festival volunteer. We could not deliver this amazing free event if it wasn’t for our valuable network of volunteers! Join us on our monthly walks and learn a little more about us and what this role entails.

Track closure update
We are pleased to be able to report that Auckland Council have been working hard on getting the Island Bay and Hekerua Bay pieces of Te Ara Hura re-opened after the March 2017 storm closures. We are hopeful that the Hekerua track will be open for this year’s Festival, with work to continue on the Island Bay track over the coming 12 months. It is hoped that funding for work on the final piece of track closed, Church Bay, will be allocated in the 2019-2020 funding round. Thank you very much to Auckland Council for their hard work in repairing these major slips so we can enjoy these gorgeous walks.
