September Monthly Walk

Thank you to everyone who joined us on our Onetangi Full Moon walk last month. It proved to be a very popular walk with a record 56 people attending. Special mention goes to Mary Matthews & Kim Wesney from Dark Sky Waiheke Island for generously sharing their knowledge and equipment with us. Thank you ladies, what a magical evening we all had.

For this month’s walk the Waiheke Walking Trust invite you to join us on the Treescape® Onetangi Sports Park walk. Enjoy a journey around one of the most historically, culturally and ecologically significant sites on Waiheke Island known as Rangihoua. Along the way you will learn of the ecological significance of the park and the current efforts to restore and save its native flora and fauna.

This will be a great walk you won’t want to miss. Thank you Treescape® one of our major sponsors of this years Festival.

When: Sunday 30 September, 10am – 1pm
Where: Onetangi Sports Park Pavilion

Showing The Hits Radio a good time

We recently spent the day with Estelle Clifford from The Hits Radio who was keen to experience our beautiful walking tracks for her Try it out Tuesday segment. We took her on a guided walk through Whakanewha Regional Park and then up to Batch Winery for their delicious high tea and bubbles. Estelle then joined us later that evening for the stunning Full Moon walk.

Estelle had a wonderful time, if you missed the post on our social media you can read all about it here (there is a fun video to watch too) and one about the Full Moon walk here.

A special thanks to Stay Waiheke to for the use of your car too.
