Overview
Underground and overland! A challenging but hugely rewarding walk over a lesser explored part of the Island.

Join us for a fabulous walk through the 8 million-year-old volcanic boulder field of Stony Batter followed by a Waiheke war tunnel adventure exploring Auckland’s biggest building – yes, the tunnels are longer than 4x the height of the Sky Tower! Bring a BYO picnic to enjoy after your adventure as we traverse to Hooks Bay for an opportunity for a relaxed picnic and a swim (originally a founding farm settled from 1856).  Price includes access to tunnels.

This challenging walk is graded 7 out of 10. This means the route has some unformed tracks, possibly narrow or muddy stretches and steep sections. Please choose walks you are comfortable with and if you are booking for others, check with them too. Thanks.
*Please arrive well-hydrated and bring a large bottle of water to drink en-route. Dehydration can seriously impact your health and enjoyment, particularly in hot and sunny conditions.*
