Ready to test your legs and feed your soul with jaw-dropping views? If so, the Onetangi Beach to Poderi Crisci walk is a walk you’ll love. It is a challenging, wildly rewarding walk that packs steep climbs, thrilling descents and the kind of vistas that make you stop, breathe and grin.
Starting at the white sands and gorgeous Onetangi Beach, you’ll cruise up peaceful island roads and through leafy reserves toward Pukeatua Reserve on Trig Hill Road. You’ll tackle the infamous 275 stepped rope-climb, perfect for a bit of theatrical climbing and bragging rights. Reach the ridge above Awaawaroa Eco Village for sweeping rural and sea panoramas that demand a pause (and a few photos). From there you’ll wind down past old manganese workings into tranquil wetlands, then stroll down the driveway to Poderi Crisci for a long, well-earned lunch.
