The Waiheke Walking Trust is super excited to bring you our Monthly Walk Series. We’ve put together a great programme of walks which runs on the last weekend of every month May – October. Mark these dates on your calendar and get in touch to let us know which ones you’d like to register for.

  • Sunday 24th June, 10am – 2pm – Coast to Coast Walk. Cross the island from south to north, Omiha/Rocky Bay Hall – Onetangi Beach.
  • Sunday 28th July, 10am-1pm – Park Point Loop. This walk will be brought to you by our presenting partner Ray White, Waiheke.
  • Saturday 25th August – Full Moon walk, 7-9pm. In conjunction with Night Shift and Astronz.
  • Sunday 30th September, 10am-12pm – Onetangi Sports Park and surrounds loop walk. Brought to you by one of our major sponsors Treescape┬«.
  • Sunday 29th October, 10am-1pm – Palm Beach – Oneroa Beach. Brought to you by one of our major sponsors Fullers.

We were really disappointed we had to cancel our first walk last month due to bad weather conditions but walker safety is always at the forefront of our minds. Thank you for your understanding.

If you are interested in joining us on one or more of the walks please register with us by emailing info@waihekewalkingfestival.org.

P.S. Consider becoming a Waiheke Walking Festival volunteer. We could not deliver this amazing free event if it wasn’t for our valuable network of volunteers! Join us on our monthly walks and learn a little more about us and what this role entails.

Thank you to major sponsor Fullers

Track closure update

We are pleased to be able to report that Auckland Council have been working hard on getting the Island Bay and Hekerua Bay pieces of Te Ara Hura re-opened after the March 2017 storm closures. We are hopeful that the Hekerua track will be open for this year’s Festival, with work to continue on the Island Bay track over the coming 12 months. It is hoped that funding for work on the final piece of track closed, Church Bay, will be allocated in the 2019-2020 funding round. Thank you very much to Auckland Council for their hard work in repairing these major slips so we can enjoy these gorgeous walks.

Don’t miss out on your favourite walks this year. By becoming a Friend of the Festival & providing us with much needed support we would like to say thanks by giving you:

  • Early bird registrations before they open to the general public
  • Extra registrations – up to 10 x walk registrations per member
  • A ticket to the Festival Finale
  • That feel good factor of supporting such a fantastic event čÖé

This programme is limited to 100 memberships ONLY so get in quick.
